Maintenance Building
Borough of East Greenville
East Greenville, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided engineering services for design of a four (4) bay maintenance garage for the East Greenville Water Department. The building is constructed of split face and ground face block, and the roof is constructed of wood trusses. The cupola and false barn door were incorporated to mimic some of the structures in the area.

CAI provided field survey, geotechnical investigation, structural design, construction plans and specifications, bid and construction administration, and construction inspection.

Water Storage Tank
Borough of East Greenville
East Greenville, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided engineering services for water system improvements for the Borough of East Greenville, including a 760,000 gallon steel hydropillar water storage tank. Fit onto a small site, the hydropillar shape was a perfect fit and allowed construction of a maintenance building and salt storage building on the same site.

CAI provided geotechnical investigation and site design, and prepared plans and specifications for construction, including painting specifications.

Cold Storage Building Addition
Cannon Holdings
Richland Township, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided engineering services for design of a 17,000 S.F. cold storage building addition for Cannon Holdings.

The building was constructed with a conventional steel frame and insulated wall panels. The concrete floor was specially designed for sub-freezing temperatures and storage racks. An isolated loading area with loading docks was integrated into the building.

CAI provided field survey, site design, permitting applications, structural design and electrical design for the addition. CAI also provided bid and construction administration and construction inspection.

Lower Milford Township Building
Lower Milford Township
Coopersburg, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided the site design and structural engineering for the Lower Milford Township Municipal Building. The building is a one-story, wood frame structure with a brick façade. The architectural design was provided by Bonsall & Shafferman Architects. The building was designed to provide a modern look while retaining some of the rustic features of this rural community. Features include the gambrel roof and exposed heavy timber beams in the entrance foyer. Also unique to this project was the use of porous bitumastic paving in the parking lot to reduce runoff and minimize detention basin size.

Penn Stainless Products, Inc.
Richland Township, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided site design and foundation design for this 30,000 square foot warehouse addition at Penn Stainless Products in Richland Township, Bucks County, PA, and has recently completed site design and foundation design for a 75,000 square foot warehouse addition.

Work included site design, building and equipment foundation design, plans and specifications for construction, permit applications, bid administration, and construction administration and inspection.

Additions and Renovations to Northwestern Elementary School
in Partnership with MKSD Architects for Northwestern Lehigh School District, Lynn Township, Lehigh County, PA

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) was contracted to provide all civil, site and geotechnical engineering services, construction management, and construction materials testing and inspection for this $11 million renovation and addition project. The scope of work included the complete renovation of the existing building including all mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Additions to the facility included construction of three additional classrooms, faculty support rooms and a complete full-size gymnasium. CAI provided District representation to coordinate construction activities with all permitting governmental agencies. Construction was completed on schedule and within budget in August of 2008 in time for the beginning of the school year.

Addition to Weisenberg Elementary School
In Partnership with MKSD Architects for Northwestern Lehigh School District
Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania

Cowan Associates, Inc. (CAI) provided all civil, site and geotechnical engineering services and all site permitting from local, county and state agencies. CAI designed a new sanitary sewer collection system to upgrade the on-lot collection and treatment to a connection to a regional authority public sewer system. The sewage collection was maintained during construction. The new design included a low pressure grinder pump station.

Design began in March 2006 and construction was substantially completed in October 2009.
